EPG opens up the Japanese market

The leading international provider of logistics solutions EPG (Ehrhardt Partner Group) is strengthening its commitment in the Asian region: EPG has been present in Japan with its own team since summer 2021. The goal is to position the EPG ONE Supply Chain Execution Suite with, among other things, its warehouse management system LFS and the pick-by-voice solution LYDIA™ Voice as a reliable product "Made in Germany". Project implementation on site and customer support in the East Asia region are also set to be expanded through local contacts.

Modular high-performance logistics solutions for Japan

With the tried-and-tested pick-by-voice solution LYDIA Voice, EPG has been successfully represented on the Japanese market for over ten years by its partner AINIX. The company distributes automatic recognition systems and advises on their efficient use. Many joint pick-by-voice projects have already been realised through this cooperation. However, numerous Japanese companies in Europe and the USA, including MISUMI, NGK, NISSIN and YKK, also have many years of experience with the warehouse management system LFS. All of EPG's logistics software solutions – including LYDIA Voice and LFS – are also available in Japanese.

"Japan is already very advanced in the field of logistics systems and offers highly automated state-of-the-art solutions. On the one hand, this does not make it easy to continue to develop the market," says Alfred Roos, Director Business Development Region Asia at EPG. "On the other hand, however, we see enormous potential in the modularity of our holistic offer. And that is where we come in," says Alfred Roos. EPG ONE is divided into different solution areas that can be used completely separately or in combination: the warehouse management system (LFS), the pick-by-voice solution LYDIA Voice, the control tower (TIMESQUARE), the proprietary AutoStore module ATC and many other products for smart logistics management. Customers can flexibly put together their software packages according to their needs – and thus also respond very flexibly to changing requirements. There are not yet any systems with such a wide range of functions in Japan. Especially in times of complex supply chains and sometimes great uncertainty in the market, this is a decisive competitive advantage because modular solutions can be implemented and adapted quickly and in a cost-efficient manner.

This is one of the reasons why EPG was ranked as a Challenger for the first time in the renowned 2022 Gartner® Magic Quadrant™ Report for Warehouse Management Systems. This puts the company among the elite of the global supply chain software industry.
