Future-proof warehouse management in times of Logistics 4.0.

At LogiMAT 2018, the Ehrhardt + Partner Group (EPG) shows how efficient warehouse management can be achieved in the context of digitalization and networking. For this purpose, the logistics experts present the latest development in the LFS logistics software suite. As an intelligent control center, LFS is the platform for further networking in warehouses and on the road, making it the prerequisite for economical and future-proof processes. The new functions in the LFS.V8 version are precisely aligned to the current market and customer demands. The EPG uses specific use cases to demonstrate how networked warehouse and logistics processes can be optimized in a targeted manner. At hall 8, stand A71, the experts use live demonstrations to provide information on their comprehensive range of products and services for Logistics 4.0.

The Ehrhardt + Partner Group at LogiMAT 2018.

Digitalization and networking are substantially accelerating the developments in logistics. Consumers challenge logistic providers – with their changed ordering patterns and their requirements for next day or same day deliveries. The reverse conclusion leaves companies with the question of how to best make use of the market developments in the field of digitalization. With the LFS software suite, the EPG precisely addresses the requirements of networked logistics. The greatest challenge lies in quickly and easily networking already established technologies, such as printers and conveyor systems, with new logistics systems, including robotics solutions or drones. In this context, the LFS.wms warehouse management system acts as an intelligent control center and coordinates all processes precisely. This provides an efficient, transparent and economical logistics management – for the requirements of today and the future.

Ready for the requirements of Logistics 4.0

Strategically using the current market developments and making in-house processes ready for logistics 4.0: EPG illustrates how to do this with practical application scenarios and the latest LFS functions. For example, the logistics experts show how to turn big data into smart data: the LFS.analytics modules can uncover hidden potentials in the entire logistics supply chain. LFS.analytics uses the abundance of data arising in each project to precisely identify the parameters which are relevant for further optimization, such as location assignments in the warehouse, routes or picking paths. Based on historical data and experience values, the module also generates predictions for future development options. The resource management module is also new in the LFS portfolio, helping companies to easily overcome the great challenge of strategic personnel planning without time requirement. Based on the current order volume, the stored shift plans, the qualifications and the existing employees, the module dynamically visualizes all available resources in real time. The international shipping system LFS.iss is another highlight for simplified handling of the entire shipping logistics process – including from the cloud.
