FMCG (Fast-Moving-Consumer-Goods)

FMCG stands for 'fast-moving consumer goods'. This refers to goods and commodities that sell particularly well and have a correspondingly high turnover.  Typical examples are food, hygiene articles or similar products used on a day-to-day basis. Accordingly, sectors such as the food industry have more FMCG than, for example, the electronics industry. The commodity with the highest rotation rate is the daily newspaper. The difference between release and obsolescence is smaller than for any other product. Among the logistical challenges in dealing with fast moving consumer goods are the constant availability and deliverability of the products. The opposite of FMCG are slow-moving consumer goods (SMCG).
